The Blue Sultanate
Where the desert meets the sea, trade has always found a way. Where empires have fallen, the south has endured. And beneath the blue, the Sultanate prospers.
About
The Blue Sultanate is a prosperous southern desert nation located in Olera's Gilded South region. Stretching from the northern plains to the southern deserts, the Sultanate encompasses around ten settlements, with its capital, Domes โ known as the Blue City โ standing as the heart of its trade and government.
The Sultanate is defined by its bustling ports, extensive trade networks, highly centralised government, and its role as the current custodian of the Server's South Trade District (STD).
Its people place great importance on loyalty, stability and prosperity. Though the scars of past famine and war remain, the Blue Sultanate continues to expand its economy, strengthen its alliances and prepare for whatever challenges the future may bring.
History & Story
The Blue Sultanate stands as the successor to the Southern Gilded Empire, which first settled this region and established the earliest state in the far south, founding Olera's first successful trading district. However, the Empire stretched far beyond its capacity, and its provinces grew increasingly autonomous, eventually rivalling the central rule. Diverging views on foreign relations, combined with unsustainable economic policies, left the then empire deeply unstable. When an international crisis struck, the already fragile economy collapsed, and rebellious provinces tore the Empire apart. Famine followed, claiming nearly eighty percent of the population. The survivors clustered around the capital city of Domes โ also known as the Blue City โ and from these ashes, the Blue Sultanate rose to fill the vacuum.
Through diplomacy and, when necessary, war, the Sultanate managed to reunite the Gilded South under its banner. Yet the trauma of the collapse left deep scars, and the Sultanate adopted the strictest immigration policies in Olera, valuing loyalty above all else. This caution slowed economic recovery, but the nation's bustling trade ports and new centralised system gradually restored its wealth. Today, the Blue Sultanate stretches from the northern plains to the southernmost deserts, encompassing around ten settlements, and stands as one of Olera's most prosperous nations.
The Nation Today
But prosperity invited envy. The northern nations, gathering under the banner of High Roost, declared war on the Sultanate, seeking to claim its riches. Though the Sultanate emerged victorious, the cost was steep โ relying heavily on an international coalition and mercenaries, it became clear that the nation's low population and far-stretched territory left it dangerously overextended. High Roost, though forced to pay war reparations, has refused to sign a permanent peace deal, and rumors of war once again loom over the Blue Sultanate. This time, the Sultanate will be ready. With the lessons of war, government reforms, new citizens, and new alliances, it will stand as it always has โ refusing to kneel before any threat, looking always toward a brighter future where the Blue Sultanate stands as a beacon of trade, resilience, and unity in Olera.

The Midas Project
The Midas Project is the Blue Sultanate's provincial development funding program. It rewards Governors for building and expanding their provinces by providing capital resources based on the number, size, and detail of their constructions.
How It Works:
- A Governor submits a request to the capital for funding.
- The Sultan personally visits the province to inspect the work and verify everything is in order.
- The Sultan then decides the funding amount based on the following guidelines:
| Construction Type | Reward |
|---|---|
| Standard buildings | 3โ5 diamonds |
| New houses (min. 5x5 interior) | 5โ7 diamonds, based on detail and size |
| Ports or docks | 20 diamonds |
| Fountains, market stalls, shops, horse stables | 5โ15 diamonds |
| Farmlands | Seeds provided + 10 diamonds |
Accountability: Any Governor found cheating or attempting to exploit the system will be suspended from the Midas Project until further notice.
